This Is The ABCD Way.

Support should feel personal—because it is.

At ABCD, we believe great support begins with understanding the person, not simply providing a service. We take the time to learn each individual’s routines, preferences, goals, communication style, relationships, and vision for their life—then build support around what matters to them.

We Start With the Person.

Before we build support, we get to know who we’re supporting.

Every person has their own routines, preferences, relationships, interests, goals, and way of communicating. ABCD takes the time to understand those things first.

That understanding shapes how support is provided—from the staff we match with an individual to the way we approach daily routines, community activities, personal goals, and independence.

The person comes first. The support follows.

Your Life. Your Choices.

Support doesn’t mean taking over.

At ABCD, individuals remain at the center of decisions about their own lives. What to do, where to go, how to spend their time, what goals to pursue, and how they want to be supported should reflect the individual—not the preferences of the people providing the support.

Our role is to listen, offer support when it’s needed, and help create opportunities for individuals to make informed choices and build greater control over their everyday lives.

Choice is not something we provide. It’s something we respect.

Support Built on Trust.

Consistency matters when someone is part of your everyday life.

Support works differently when there is real trust between an individual and the people around them.

At ABCD, we focus on building dependable relationships and thoughtful staff matches. Over time, staff learn the small things that matter—the way someone communicates, when they want help, when they want space, what makes them comfortable, and what makes a good day feel like their good day.

That familiarity allows support to become more natural, respectful, and responsive.

Familiar faces. Stronger relationships. Better support.

Small Steps. Real Progress.

Growth looks different for everyone.

At ABCD, progress isn’t measured by comparing one person to another. It’s measured by where an individual started, what matters to them, and what they want to accomplish next.

Sometimes progress is learning to prepare a favorite meal with less assistance. It may be navigating a familiar bus route, managing a weekly budget, communicating a need more independently, or becoming comfortable trying something new.

Our staff provide the guidance, encouragement, and repetition needed to help individuals strengthen skills at their own pace—while recognizing when its time to step back and let them take the lead.

The goal isn’t to do more for someone. Its to help them do more for themselves.

Life Happens in the Community.

A meaningful life includes being part of the world around you. At ABCD, we support individuals in building routines, relationships, and experiences that connect them to their communities in ways that matter to them.

That might mean grabbing lunch at a favorite restaurant, going to the gym, attending a local event, visiting family and friends, shopping independently, volunteering, taking a class, or simply becoming comfortable navigating familiar places.

Community integration isn’t about filling a calendar with activities. It’s about helping each individual develop the confidence, skills, and connections to participate in the community on their own terms.

Home is the starting point—not the boundary.

Because being supported in the community is one thing. Belonging there is something bigger.

Your Goals. Your Choices. Your Way.

Support should fit your life—not the other way around.

Choosing where you live, how you spend your day, what goal’s you pursue, who you spend time with, and how you want staff to support you. ABCD is there to help make those choices possible—not make the choices for them
